Gestate. Give birth. Raise.

Nothing has changed me as profoundly as becoming a mother.

During pregnancy, I felt as if all my senses had become heightened — not only those of the body, but something deeper, something I could only describe as a sense of the soul. As my body grew, I became increasingly vulnerable and began to question the world around me, my place in it, and many of the things I had once taken for granted.

Little by little, my sense of I gave way to we. The identity I had built over the years began to crack, and with it came fear — the feeling of losing the person I thought I was.

But at the height of that vulnerability, just before giving birth, I discovered a strength I had never known before: something instinctive, raw and almost animal.

The flowers growing from the body represent that transformation — the breaking of one self and the emergence of another.

I died in childbirth. And I was reborn.
