Kundalini

Kundalini is a series of works exploring the relationship between the body, inner energy and the search for balance.

The figures appear in quiet, meditative poses, stripped of individual features. Rather than portraying specific people, they become universal figures — bodies turned inward, suspended between movement and stillness.

Created with Chinese ink washes on 100% cotton paper and finished with gold leaf, the contrast between the fluidity of the ink and the luminosity of the gold is central to the series. The gold marks an inner presence: something subtle, powerful and difficult to see, but always there.

Kundalini is not an attempt to illustrate a spiritual concept literally. It is an exploration of that moment when we turn inward, become aware of ourselves, and connect with something beyond what can be seen.
